A moss pole provides climbing plants with sturdy support for vertical growth while also creating additional space for aerial roots to grow and attach. Moist sphagnum moss or a suitable growing mix creates an additional growing medium that allows the roots to gradually grow into it.
Thanks to its stackable design, the pole grows together with the plant. Individual sections can be added as the plant grows, so there is no need to replace the entire structure. The poles are also reusable, allowing them to be used for another plant after proper cleaning.
The pole is easy to assemble, fill with sphagnum moss or a suitable growing mix, and use immediately. As the plant grows taller, simply add another section.
The closed back limits airflow around the filling material, helping the moss or growing mix dry out more slowly. Moisture remains concentrated inside the pole while also reducing the amount of material that falls out into the surrounding area.
The D-shaped design concentrates the filling material toward the front, where it comes into contact with the aerial roots. This gives the roots access to a moist surface without unnecessarily filling the entire volume of a round pole. The result is lower material consumption and a more efficient design.
Choose the pole size based on the plant’s future size, not its current size. A larger pole provides more space for aerial roots, holds more growing material, and allows the plant to continue growing without needing to replace the pole later.

Tip: If you are unsure between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger one. The pole is designed to grow with the plant, and replacing it once the roots have established can be unnecessarily difficult.
The closing positions determine how wide the pole opens when closed. Each position changes its depth and internal volume, and therefore also the amount of growing material that can fit inside the pole.
You can generally choose the position according to the size of the pole and the amount of growing material you need.
The higher the position number, the larger the internal volume of the pole. Position 1 has the smallest volume, while the highest available position has the largest volume.
If you are using an anchor, it is essential to use the correct closing position. The anchor is designed for a specific pole setting to ensure proper stability and attachment.

The amount of sphagnum moss depends on the pole size and the selected closing position. The more you open the pole, the larger its internal volume becomes and the more material it can hold.
Approximate amount of sphagnum moss:

If you use Growing Medium for Moss Poles instead of pure sphagnum moss, the required amount is given in liters:

Our sphagnum moss poles are stackable and easily extendable. Individual poles can be connected to one another to create a support that grows together with your plant. The only limit is… your ceiling. 😊
When connecting the poles, it is necessary to use only parts of the same size and to ensure that all sections are closed in the same position.
When using more than two extensions, we recommend additionally securing the system with a compatible anchor to ensure that the entire structure remains stable.
The anchor is designed to increase the stability of the entire setup, especially with taller poles and when using multiple extensions. It helps distribute the weight of the plant and prevents unwanted tilting or movement of the pole.
When using the anchor, the pole must be closed in the exact specified position. The anchor is not compatible with every setting, as its design is adapted to the specific geometry of the pole.

No. The plant attaches only to the perforated front section of the pole, where it has direct contact with the moist growing medium. The closed back section is not designed for attaching the plant.
