To decide which substrate is best for you, you need to consider many factors: What do I want to grow, how many plants do I have, am I a beginner or an advanced grower? Growing hydroponically can lead to higher yields when all parameters are set correctly. However, the initial purchase is expensive and the system setup is more complex. Soil is therefore simpler: you fill a pot with soil and add the plant, water it from time to time, and you do not have to measure any values. Soil cultivation is much cheaper and suitable for beginners, as mistakes in nutrient supply are better buffered. However, pests can also establish themselves more easily in soil substrate. Fungus gnats, thrips and others lay their eggs in the substrate. Hydroponics is generally less susceptible to diseases.
