Substrate for cacti and succulents with a high proportion of mineral components, designed for rapid water drainage, a long-lasting stable structure, and excellent aeration of the root zone.
The base consists of a fine mineral blend of pumice, lava rock, and zeolite, supplemented with coarse perlite. The limited proportion of organic matter helps keep the substrate airy and highly free-draining, while still providing sufficient contact with moisture for growing in pots.
It is suitable for cacti and succulents grown in containers with good drainage that need excess water to drain quickly away from the root zone.
It is an excellent choice for growers who want to replace dense substrates with a high peat content with a lighter, more mineral-based mix. It is also suitable for indoor cultivation, where it is important to limit prolonged retention of excess water around the roots.
Watering requirements always vary depending on the specific plant species, pot size, temperature, light levels, and season.
Use directly from the packaging in a pot with an unobstructed drainage hole.
Place the plant in the pot and gently add the substrate around the roots. Settle it lightly, but do not compact it firmly, so it retains its airy structure.
Water according to the plant’s current needs and always allow excess water to drain away completely. Do not rely solely on a fixed watering interval - check the condition of the substrate in the root zone and adjust watering frequency to the plant, the season, and the growing conditions. During periods of slower growth and lower water evaporation, reduce watering significantly.
The mix contains no added fertilizer. Adjust fertilizing to the needs of the specific species and the period of active growth.
The substrate is supplied in a 8.5 l bag.
