Anchoring Kit / Anchor, Pot and Pole

Make sure your plants grow big and strong while being safely supported by sphagnum moss poles. Our anchors solve a common issue with moss poles: stability. Although they are not mandatory, they offer an excellent solution that improves the long-term security of moss poles and gives you peace of mind while your plants thrive.

As your plants grow, so do your sphagnum moss poles. However, with larger and heavier plants, stability can become a problem, and it is only a matter of time before a heavy plant tips over, risking damage to the plant or its surroundings. That is where our anchors come in. They seamlessly connect your aroid pots with sphagnum moss poles, creating a durable and functional structure that supports growth over the long term.

We especially recommend using these anchors if you are growing a large plant or plan to add more than 3 extensions to an S or M moss pole, or more than 2 extensions to an L or XL pole.

Choosing the right anchor and pot

When using the PlantScraper anchoring system, it is important to choose the right pot size so that both the anchor and the plant’s roots have enough room to grow. We recommend increasing the pot size by 4 to 8 cm in diameter to accommodate the anchoring system.

For example, if your Monstera is currently in a 10 cm diameter pot, switching to a 16 or 18 cm pot will provide enough space for root growth while securely holding the anchor in place. This simple adjustment helps maintain stability and supports healthy plant development over time.

How does the anchor work?

The anchor is a great helper if you want your plants to grow tall. It works perfectly in combination with our Aroid pot and sphagnum moss pole. Let’s show you how it works.

Inserting the support into the anchor

1. The assembled sphagnum moss pole can be easily inserted into the anchor, giving the support a stable base.

2. The anchor is designed specifically for our pot, so it braces securely against the raised elements inside the pot.

3. Cover the anchor with substrate and stability is guaranteed — thanks to the anchor, you can also be sure the support will stay upright and will not shift the plant’s overall center of gravity. However, we would of course recommend placing the pot inside a heavier ceramic cover pot.

The anchor is available only in black, but it is hidden under the substrate anyway. :)

Unisize S drippers fit S sphagnum moss poles.

For M poles, the corresponding dripper size is M2.

L sphagnum moss poles require L3 drippers, and XL poles require XL3 drippers.
