Our anchors solve a common problem with moss poles – stability. Although they are not essential, they provide an excellent solution for long-term securing of moss poles, so your plants can grow with confidence.

Why are anchors important?

As your plants grow, moss poles get larger too. With bigger and heavier plants, however, stability can become an issue and there is a risk of tipping over, which could damage the plant or its surroundings. Our anchors solve this problem – they connect aroid pots with moss poles and create a sturdy, functional structure for long-term growth support.

How to choose the right anchor and pot

When using the PlantScraper anchoring system, it is important to increase the pot size so that both the anchor and the plant roots have enough space. We recommend increasing the pot diameter by 4 to 8 cm.

For example, if your monstera is in a 10 cm diameter pot, moving up to a 15–18 cm pot will provide enough room for root growth as well as proper anchor placement. This simple step helps maintain stability and supports healthy plant development.

Using drip irrigation?

Although this is a self-watering moss pole system, the moss still needs fertilizer. That is why we recommend using drippers.

• S anchoring can be used with a unisize S dripper

• M poles require M2 drippers

• L moss poles are compatible with L3 drippers

• XL poles need XL3 drippers

How does the anchor work?

The anchor is a great helper if you want your plants to grow to impressive heights. It works perfectly in combination with our self-watering pot for Aroids and sphagnum moss pole. Let’s take a look.

Inserting the support into the anchor

1. The folded sphagnum moss pole can be easily inserted into the anchor, giving the support a stable base.

1. The anchor is designed specifically for our pot, so it locks into the raised points inside the pot.

1. Cover the anchor with substrate and stability is guaranteed - thanks to the anchor, you can also be sure the support will stay straight and will not shift the center of gravity of the whole plant. However, we of course recommend placing the pot inside a heavier ceramic cover pot.

 

 

 

 

Pole and pot size chart:

This anchor is not compatible with the standard pot for Aroids, only with the self-watering version. However, for standard pots we also have an anchor.

We only offer the anchor in black, as it will be hidden under the substrate anyway. :)
